Terms and Conditions

Use of the CharityGiver.com website, any of its services and any website powered by CharityGiver.com, implies acceptance of these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before proceeding further.

About the charities and organisations featured on CharityGiver.com

The CharityGiver.com website allows you to donate to, and raise funds for, any of the charities and organisations which you select. Every charity or organisation featured will need to have a contractual agreement with CharityGiver.com authorising CharityGiver.com to collect donations and reclaim tax on its behalf. Charities and organisations are accepted as members at CharityGiver.com's discretion. Charities must be registered with the Charity Commission or exempt from registration for CharityGiver.com to reclaim tax on their behalf. CharityGiver.com also features reputable non-for-profit organisations, which are not eligible for tax reclaim. These will be clearly listed on the site as not eligible for tax reclaim. Charities and non-for-profit organisations can have similar names: it is your responsibility to check that you are donating to the cause you intended.

Use of your donation.

CharityGiver.com is not responsible for any dissatisfaction you may have regarding the recipient organisation's use of any donation you may make through our website or websites powered by us. Please note that the recipient organisation reserves the right to use your donation for its general purposes. CharityGiver.com cannot guarantee that funds will be earmarked for a particular appeal, unless specifically stated by the recipient organisation itself.

CharityGiver.com fees.

CharityGiver.com charges a small transaction fee on every donation made on this website. The fee is currently 4% of the gross donation, which is the donation plus any tax reclaimed under Gift Aid. This means that, when a donation is made by a UK taxpayer, the charity receives approximately £12 for every £10 donated, which makes CharityGiver.com one of the most efficient methods of making a donation. When a donation is not eligible for tax reclaim, the 4% fee applies to the donation alone. Subscription fees also apply to charities and companies for additional services.

Unauthorised card use.

When a donation is made on the CharityGiver.com website the transaction is final and not disputable unless unauthorised use of your payment card is proved. If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules.

Tax Information.

When you donate to a charity on this website and confirm that you are a UK taxpayer, CharityGiver.com reclaims tax on behalf of the charity under the Gift Aid scheme. CharityGiver.com is not an accounting, taxation or financial advisor, and you should not rely on information given on the site to determine the accounting, tax or financial consequences of making a donation to charity. We strongly recommend that you consult your own advisor/s about any accounting, taxation or financial consequences that may affect you.
