The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract near Castleford opened for day care in November 1989 and as a residential Hospice in December 1990. Help is available for local people free of charge in and around the Five Towns area (Pontefract, Castleford, Hemsworth, Knottingley and Normanton).
